FAQ
1. Why each category have different points?
This year there are three different categories: men, women and seniors. They are independent from each other and receive the points according to the number of participants on each one, obtaining the maximum points that are being distributed in that specific tournament.
2. Are there a minimum number of players to earn points per category?
Yes, as the FIFG has separated all categories, each of them has a minimum, so the same tournament can distribute different points in each of the categories (FIFG-50, FIFG-100, etc.).
3. What percentage of points will the 2nd ranked player receive?
The dynamics of the distribution of points is similar to the previous year, although depending on the category a % or another is applied. Thus, for example, in the Men category the second player will receive 95% of the points of the first while in the Women and Senior categories they will receive 92%
4. Points per category depends on...
It depends on the number of players who finish a tournament (do not count players injured, retired or disqualified) as well as, in some cases, the position in the World Tour 2017 ranking of the participants in the competition. Based on this, correction coefficients may be apply between 0.9 and 0.6 (ie, a FIFG100 tournament which a correction coefficient of 0.7 is applied means that the winner of the test will receive 70 points ) or even the tournament is degraded to a lower category.
5. How often is World Tour 2018 updated?
The organizers have 48 hours to upload the results to the system. Subsequently, the WT Committee analyzes the results and applies the necessary coefficients and adjustments to the analyzed tournaments in such a way that every Thursday (9:00 CET) the ranking is updated. It is possible that later adjustments of errors detected by the organizers or players, could be adjusted but never more than a week after the dispute of the tournament.
6. What if the organizer sends the results late?
The tournament will not count for the WT.
7. Is there a General Category?
There is no General Category because men, women and seniors may be playing from different tees. Each category is unique.
