After organizing the successful Inter-American FootGolf Trophy and Atlantic FootGolf Cup in May, the US Pro-Am FootGolf Tour 2015 continues with Tacoma FootGolf Open in Washington State and the first edition of the FootGolf Cup of Nations in Norhern California, as the 3rd and 4th stops.
This weekend Meadow Park Golf Course will host players from the Seattle-Tacoma area, other US States and several other countries from around the world. This year the American FootGolf League (AFGL) added The Tacoma FootGolf Open to the national tour in a joint FootGolf Open. Amateur footgolfers alongside the best professionals in the world will compete for a total purse of $18,000. Next weekend, the last stage of the Pro-Am Tour moves to California. This tournament at the famous Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento offers a cash purse of US $17,500 as well as other trophies and awards. These are important stops for the US-players, because Tacoma, WA and Sacramento, CA offer six direct spots (three from each tournament) to the World Cup Argentina 2016. About the US Pro-Am FootGolf Tour The American FootGolf League launched a series of 36-hole tournaments on both coasts of the United States less than 12 months ago at Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, NJ with a $12,500 purse. Immediately followed by a tournament with the same cash purse at River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard, CA. Then in May, Melreese Country Club hosted a fabulous event in Miami with a $17,500 dollars purse, and the same amount was given to the winners of the stop in Port St. Lucie, at the PGA Village. With a total of 6 tournaments, more than $95,000 dollars in purse and high level of competition, the AFGL Leadership feels confident US players will be highly motivated to join the tour in the following years.
