After the first day, Christian Pozzati was the leader in Padova, Italy, at the sixth stage of the European FootGolf Trophy Tour (EFTT). On Sunday the footgolfers started to play, but they had to stop it because of the weather conditions. The course was unplayable, and the final results based on day one scores.
Thanks to the heavy showers and thunder the Italian stage of the EFTT was the shortest one this year. They could only finish the first day. After that Christian Pozzati won the cup as the leader after 18 holes. On Sunday the flights started the game on time, but thanks to the heavy rains and thunder, the organizers abandoned the game. They counted the first day results for the final rankings.
Because of the equality in the second place, there were a playoff in the evening between Samuel Bosson (NED) and Marco Trentin (ITA) won by Bosson.
The winner, Christian Pozzati described the first day for us: “It was an entertaining, thrilling one. I was not thinking about abandoning the second day because of the bad weather conditions, but it was not possible to continue the game. That was a difficult decision by the organizers.”
He was more motivated during the weekend, because the best three Italians got quota for the World Cup. “It will be a big moment for everybody to take part in the World Cup, but let me see, when we have to organize it with my wife and daughter. That’s why it is hard to talk about my future EFTT-appearances, because it is difficult to take them with me for these weekends.”
