Carmen Brusca has been playing FootGolf since last year, and now she can celebrate winning a FIFG 500 tournament in Acapulco, which brought her the feelings of joy and surprise also.
You won the ladies’ category, was it your perfect course to play on?
The Acapulco course seemed incredible to me, it was one of the best I have ever played on. The grass was beautiful, the holes were perfect and had sufficient difficulty. It was raining almost every day of the competition and the course was always in amazing condition. As for the organization I have only words of gratitude, since they were always available to solve any inconvenience that might arise and made a spectacular tournament. I want to highlight the help of Rodrigo Boneta and Enrique Reyes.
It was your first international gold medal!
Having won in my first international tournament was unimaginable, I knew that high-level players with international experience would participate, so my goal was to try to keep up with them. For that reason having won was a great surprise and joy for me.
Was your preparation perfect?
I was prepared physically a few weeks before arriving. But this sport has an important mental demand, so I think it is important to rest well to be able to concentrate on the days of the competition. Especially knowing that there were three days in a row.
Is it a boost for the future in your FootGolf career?
I have been playing FootGolf only for one year, previously played football and futsal. My goal is to continue adding experience in the sport and to add the necessary points to qualify for next year's World Cup.
