This weekend is about Italy. The Galzignano Golf Club near Padova is hosting the best players at the sixth stage of the European FootGolf Trophy Tour (EFTT). The best three Italians in this cup gets quota for the World Cup.
“A not too long, but very tricky course is waiting for the players” said Leonardo Decaria, president of the Italian federation. The next stop of the EFTT is going to be hosted by Padova this weekend. “It is a nice place with a course, which prefers technique and smartness rather than high, powerful kicks.” The expectation was to reach the ninety footgolfers, but the organizers reached 110 from eight nations. “We are happy and proud.” Team Italy is expecting one of the most exciting weekends of the year. “We improved our game thanks to the possibility of training days during the week. We made good results in 2015, Marco Caricato won in Slovakia and Italy finished second as a team, so I think that in the “home field” we can surely show all our potential. The best three Italian players of the weekend will gain the direct pass to the World Cup in Argentina. I hope, this is a great stimulus for our players.” The current standing of the EFTT can be find HERE (without last weekends Dutch results).
