The European FootGolf Trophy Tour (EFTT) had two stages organized last weekend, one in France and one in Norway. In Oslo, six Norwegians finished in the top ten, and Espen Enevold won the tournament.
Not less than eighteen players finished under par after the two-day tournament in Norway. In hard weather conditions Espen Enevold won by minus 15.
The winner introduced himself after collecting the gold medal: “I have been playing footgolf for three years now. My first meeting with the sport was the kick off of the sport in Norway on Losby on June 2013, where I came third after Christian Otero and Egil Johansen. I would say that my biggest achievements so far has been my win at the European cup in Oslo 2014 together with this one of course.”
He have now won against footgolfers with a lot of routine. “I guess I played quite steady all 36 holes, doing very few mistakes. I don't think the conditions helped me, as long distances are normally my strengths. My short game was quite ok on day one, and on day two I utilized my advantage in terms of distance. Most participants were from northern Europe so I guess everybody is used to some rainy days occasionally. My plans for the Trophy Tour stages is not confirmed yet. The big goal is the World Cup in Argentina."
