The Swiss talent, Lionel Jacot finished second twice in the European Footgolf Trophy Tour (EFTT) in this year. Now he went to England, and among the top players he won the title with amazing results under the par by 25.
Perfect weather welcomed the players in the 11th stage of the EFTT next to Cambridge at Milton Park Golf Course, which was rebuilt for FootGolf. In this course Lionel Jacot (SUI) has beaten everybody else with only 119 kicks. He was leading by three shots before the last hole, so he managed to play par, and finally he won by two kicks.
The winner said, it was a really difficult course. “Fairways were tight, speed of the greens wasn't same everywhere. There, the power isn't the most important, you have to stay on the fairway and to be in the best position for your approach. If you managed to be long but keeping the good line, you could have opportunities to win shots. I think the level was really high and now you have to put in from further than before to win shots.”
He played in five final flights during seven tournaments in the EFTT, so he was close to win the gold medal a few times, but he had to wait for it until last weekend. “It was definitely a huge experience to play at the end a lot of times, because on Sunday I was feeling relaxed and only focused on what I had to play on each holes.
There are still so great players who can still reach the 1st place depending on the three last open results. “I think, the top six can be the golden boy. I'm gonna play in Hungary and in the final, unfortunately I can't go to Croatia. I'm so excited about those last tournaments and already impatient to see all my friends again and just play footgolf with them.”
