With three consecutive win in the European Footgolf Trophy Tour (EFTT), Ben Clarke is the first player in the history, who became a “hat-trick hero”. Nobody could be better than the British guy in Croatia, in Hungary and in Turkey. The continental season have ended, but the next competition is the World Cup...
Have you dreamed about this historical achievement before Turkey?
Having already done the double and going to Turkey, it was something I thought about but I was trying to remain focused on the event alone and not about everything else. Plenty of people were texting and messaging me about the "hat-trick". It was hard not to think about it.
How could you be the best again?
There were extremely tough conditions on day one, it could be seen on the scores. We knew, day two was going to be good playing conditions so it was a matter of getting through the round making minimal mistakes and leaving yourself in contention for day two.
Is it special for a sportsman to produce two balanced performances within two days?
I really enjoy the two-day tournaments, it's always an opportunity to make up for error the previous day or carry on from where you left off, either way there's motivation to press on and perform to the best you possibly can.
Are these good results mean you want to bring back the World Cup trophy from Argentina to the UK?
I'll certainly go to Argentina with confidence knowing I can compete against Europe's finest. There will be a lot of top quality players there, some I've played with before, some totally new, either way I'm really looking forward to it and competing for Team UK.
