It is possible, that after Argentina, Chile and Colombia, another country from South America can join to the FIFG.
After the FIFG Board meeting on Thursday, Bolivia is a hot prospect for becoming a member of the international federation. They have held their first event, and ready to join the FIFG. It is possible, if they meet the requests.
Last weekend the Italian FootGolf Association (AIFG) organized the second round of the national championship. There were nearly 150 players in two days, and Leonardo Dicaria says, they can reach two hundreds in June for the European Footgolf Trophy Tour.
The season in Italy started on 24th January with 112 players and 21 teams. Last weekend, there were 143 players and 25 teams on the second round of the national championship in North Italy.
We asked Leonardo Decaria, the president of the Italian federation about this growth of the participants. He said: ‘We think and hope that this is the trend, and we will have it during all the season. It was a two-day event, because we had too many players to let them play in a single day.’
There are twelve rounds of the championships, and the nine best results count. Italy also host an European Footgolf Trophy Tour round in June.
Dicaria said: ‘We are very thrilled to host an Euro Tour stage, for sure we will give the prority to foreign players and then will fill the number with Italian players by the national ranking, so we will have the best players competing in the tournament. We are expeting 150 footgolfers, but we hope to reach the 200.’
Eleven country joined the FIFG in 2014. This year the Czech Republic could be the first.
There are some countries who are asking how they can be a member of the FIFG. After today’s meeting, it is possible, that Czech Republic can be the next one, who will join the international federation. They started to work on it in the second half of the last year to meet the requirements of the FIFG.
Gábor Gelencsér, vice-president of the FIFG had a meeting with the representatives of the Footgolf Czech Republic. The meeting was succesful, there are courses, where the European country can start playing footgolf. The progrerss has started, the first step was made.
The golfers’ Australian Open for women ended at the weekend at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Melbourne. As part of the agreement among FootGolf Australia, Golf Australia and Football Federation Australia, Gülcan Koca (W-League player for Melbourne Victory) and Bree Laughlin (TV presenter and golf tragic) made a FootGolf demo video.

The official tournaments in the UK are coming soon. The first ranking tournament will be on 1st March in Cambridge. One day before everyone can taste footgolf in Tonbridge.
In South East England a new place joined to the footgolf community. In Kent county, the Tonbridge Golf Centre is going to hold a grand opening event on 28th February. Here is the map and a preview of a two-laked course.
The first Kent footgolf competitions of the season will be taking place on 7th/8th March.
On a press conference the Japanese federation announced the schedule of the first half of 2015 and presented the new ambassador. From now, the author of the very famous comic, the ”Captain Tsubasa”, Yoichi Takahashi is going to help footgolf to be more popular in Japan.
The Japan FootGolf Association announced this year’s schedule. The four rounds of the Japan Open are the following:
1st March The Kentos Golf Club
4th April The Higashi Abiko Country Club
12th April The Island Golf Resort Sanda
9th May The Ashikaga Country Club (Hikoma Course)
At the Japan Open, each player will get the point based on the each tournament standings. Top six players with the most points from four tournaments will come up for the Team Japan. Then, the JFGA will select four players out of the six for the Team Japan which will play at the Capital Cup in 2015.
The national federation announced Yoichi Takahashi as the new ambassador of the sport. The cartoonist and manga artist presented his "one-page comic" by using his famous characters for telling the fascination of the FootGolf as the development and promotion of the sport.
The leader of the Asociación Española de FutGolf, Juan Manuel Asensi presented his book titled ”Asensi. Dad, mission accomplished: I didn't ridicule myself.” alongside with his good friends, Carles Rexach and Vicente Del Bosque.
Juan Manuel Asensi, the president of the Asociación Española de FutGolf played for Barcelona for ten years and capped 41 times in the Spanish National Team. The journalist Toni Cabot wrote Asensi’s biography, which is available now. In the presentation the writer called Asensi the most important footballer from Alicante.
– I feel funny, it looks like I've left behind a well, but that's done, I am very happy. Even more so for the company that I've shared during the presentation because the best memories I have from football are the friends I've made – commented Asensi.
– He was the best midfielder there way, he didn't only carry out work in the midfield, but went further and scored many goals – said Vicente Del Bosque. – Asensi is one of those players who has brought prestige to his club and football – concluded the National Team Manager.
